1/1/2011 Check out this pic of the fish caught already the first weekend of 2011. The smallest fish was 19 inches.
I am offering ice fishing charters to groups. The cost is $75 / person for a half day. We will meet at
5:45am and start loading the equipment. We will use snowmachines to navigate across the ice using Navionics maps loaded on a Lowrance XOG gps mounted on the my machine. You can bring a gps and mark the waypoints we fish. I will supply the helmets for the snowmachines, unless you choose to bring your own.
We will fish out of either a 2006 Otter ice fishing lodge or a 2010 Clam Fish trap. You can use my selection of lures, rods, and reels or bring your favorite rod/reel and lures with you.
I use 15 lb Spiderwire Stealth green (4 lb diameter) on my reels. I use backing
on each reel to make sure the line doesn't slip on the reel. This line won't
break when the fish rubs it against the hole in the ice. I have the latest in electronics for marking and visualizing the fish. Each shanty will have a heater, but this is winter, and when you step out you will be in Michigans weather so dress appropriately. We will fish until approzimately 11-12noon and then come in for lunch.
If you choose the evening trip then I will meet you at 1pm and return after dark.
To see pictures click the photogallery/blog link to the left. I am very
busy fishing and working, so I don't get the chance to update the site much, so
I am sending pics from my phone to the photogallery. Please feel free to comment
on them. Also, if you fished with me then feel free to post your pics online
too. Text me if you have problems.
You may choose to fish both the morning and afternoon, just reserve those times in advance. I take reservations online, and will confirm your trip when I receive the deposit. On the left column there are navigation buttons so check out my web site, as I fish year round at different locations. During the winter I ice fish on Saginaw Bay, with occasional trips to Tawas for whitefish, and the occasional trek to the hot pons in waders for walleye. In the spring I fish for walleye on the Edventure, and move to Manistee at the end of July for Salmon. In October I return to Saginaw Bay for walleye.
